let this be a warning to you all when you deal with the petty minded building bureaucrats . This is what happens when you have a national building code ( as we do here), and you get differing interpretations of the codes required.  This person was told he could not take out the brick stairs and path to provide one single disabled access path because it would not look part of the community and the surrounding architecture, and would potentially be an eye sore. After offering numerous design solutions over a 2 year period all of which were turned down by some inane petty minded bureaucrat  this person decided to build exactly to code and this is the result.
Apparently the council worker has gone on stress leave, and the authorities are now in negotiations with the owners to see what can be done about it. Amazing..

And in other parts of the worlds, do what you want, make sure it is safe and enjoy your home.Be inspired to live how you want to live

Now I'm going to do something here that is perhaps not quite what this blog is about, but over the past few weeks I have been watching what is happening in Kiev. Now stop this is not a political post, but it's more about the images that have been coming out of Kiev that have just absolutely amazed me, this photographer is worthy of a Pulitzer prize for the following images. And I think you all deserve to see them, it's kind of like they were staged, or are from some movie, I don't know, they seem almost surreal and while the struggle should not be forgotten, these images are truly amazing, some even reminiscent of that now famous Iwa Jima raising of the starts and Stripes flag of world war 2. I want to say enjoy but the topic is not enjoyable but just have a look at these....

This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it.
Abraham Lincoln.

Crazy Eh? from the beauty of what we can achieve with our lives and our world to the hatred, death, violence and mayhem on the flip side. So I'm sorry if some of you may have found these images disturbing.
